As an artist, student and human this is my responsibility to utilize my creativity as a weapon. I was inspired by Shirin Neshat, an Iranian artist who always talked about women in Islamic countries in her art works. I tried to depict a portrait of a woman who is screaming for freedom not only for herself but also for her country, Iran. As you see there are different words in Farsi and English which were our hashtags during the protest, because of the death of Mahsa Amini. Mahsa Amini was killed by the government of Islamic Republic because of the mandatory hijab. I tried to use different mediums like beads for her hair to demonstrate the pressure of this case. Please write to me your hashtags about #women, life, freedom.
